Enrolment
The enrolment of Valencia School has significantly increased by 7.3 % in the year 2003-2004 attributed to the influx of students from the neighboring towns of Garcia Hernandez and Dimiao but unsurprisingly decreased by 6.7% in the following year 2004-2005 with the opening of Valencia High School Annex School in Marawis. In the school year 2004-2005, the school’s population even decreased by 10.8% with the complete secondary course offer in the annex school. Those students living in the far-flung barangays prefer to continue their studies in the annex school to save money and time.
The root cause of the decrease is poverty felt by the majority of the families who can not even sustain their daily needs and so, their children are forced to stop schooling and are tasked to earn a living for the family to survive.
