History

Valencia High School is one of the oldest and biggest schools in the province of Bohol established in May 1946 by virtue of Commonwealth Act No. 381 by a group of elite and education conscious Valencianhons headed by Dr. Canuto C. Lim and the dynamic retired Public Schools District Supervisor, the late Vicente Sales. Both were inspired by the idea initiated by the late Schools Division Superintendent of the Division of Bohol, Superintendent Severo Pajo Sr. who was also a Valencianhon. For a year, the school was run by a Board of Trustees. It is really a product of voluntary labor and donated materials of 36 barangays of the town.

Initially, the school’s prime objectives were to offer quality high school education with minimum cost to young boys and girls and adults who failed to obtain the said education before World War II to prepare them for life and for a better living.
